Mankato, MN (October 23, 2023) – Freedom Home Care, LLC (FHC) is pleased to announce Kelsey Mihm has joined the healthcare team as the executive director. A North Mankato native, Mihm is a healthcare professional who brings a mix of business acumen, healthcare knowledge and empathy to enhance company operations.
“We’re excited to welcome Kelsey to our leadership team,” says Chris Mihm, co-owner of FHC. “Her experiences observing international healthcare systems and serving as an administrative fellow at the Texas Children’s Hospital will bring a fresh perspective to our care teams, clients and their families.”
Mihm’s passion for taking care of others began when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as a child. Her interest in healthcare and leadership grew as she watched her father establish FHC and worked as a caregiver for the company as a young adult. Eventually, Mihm earned degrees in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health in Minneapolis.
After completing an internship at Mankato Clinic, she traveled to Ireland to learn about international healthcare, executed a variety of administrative projects at Texas Children’s Hospital and still serves as a peer mentor for young adults with type 1 diabetes at the Baylor College of Medicine. Mihm is happy to return to her hometown to apply what she’s learned to grow the family business.
