Q: I’m taking so many medications and I’m not sure what is what anymore. What can I do to make sure I’m taking them correctly?
A: The correct medications are important in our lives and if you are like most people, you take the medicine as your doctor prescribes it. However, over time…and the addition of other medications, you forget which pill you are taking for what and even what the side effects might be. In addition, as we age, our bodies start to build up a tolerance to some medicines so they don’t work as well as they once did. Or our bodies may not eliminate medication waste through our kidneys or liver and so those levels can begin to build up. We know it can be a daily struggle to remember which medications you should take, what you are taking them for, what time to take them, and what side effects to watch for. We can help. If you or a loved one, need assistance with setting up medications in your home (on a weekly or bi-weekly basis), please call Freedom Home Care at 507-387-4663 and a friendly, knowledgeable registered nurse will be happy to discuss a medication management plan that may be just right for you.
