Area experts are coming together to offer a panel discussion to help aging adults navigate through Elder Care Planning in an effort to avoid conflict and confusion.
Elder Care Planning for the Future

Topics for the morning will cover items such as tax breaks for seniors, the complexities of estate and inheritance taxes, long-term care planning, the pros, cons and costs of annuities, when to adjust portfolios, how to get started on estate planning, and what documents need to be in place to protect loved ones who benefit from an inheritance. Participants are encouraged to bring a list of their own questions about planning for the future for our panel experts.
Experts on the panel include Ramona Johnson, CPA and Partner of Eide Bailly; Brooke Forstner, CPA and Tax Senior Manager of Eide Bailly; Steven Helget, Financial Advisor for Northwestern Mutual; and Omni N. Kiecker, Managing Attorney of Kiecker Law Office.
Ramona Johnson, CPA, Partner of Eide Bailly – With more than 20 years public accounting experience, Johnson provides services to a variety of clients. As a tax specialist, she works closely with businesses and individuals to minimize their tax burdens. Specifically, Ramona is a valuable resource for estate, gift and fiduciary taxation issues, wealth transfer and estate planning.
Brooke Forstner, CPA, Tax Senior Manager of Eide Bailly – With more than 12 years of public accounting experience, Brooke works with clients in a variety of industries including agriculture and health care. Brooke works with businesses and business owners to provide tax planning, consulting and compliance services. She is also the treasurer of the Estate Planners Council of Southern Minnesota.
Steven Helget, Financial Advisor for Northwestern Mutual – Steven launched his career in 2011 and has commitment to continuous education, receiving the Certified Financial Planner™ certification. Steven enjoys working with individuals, families, and businesses to build lifelong relationships within his comprehensive, planning-based practice in order to help them accomplish their financial goals.
Omni N. Kiecker, Managing Attorney of Kiecker Law Office – Omni prides herself in making sure that her estate planning clients are well represented. She has also worked with many small businesses to help them develop. She knows that an estate is more than a home, a business is more than a paycheck and land is more than dirt. Omni received her undergraduate degrees in General and Human Resource Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2002.
